Legitimacy. Trust. Organisational Culture. AI.
Former Police Superintendent and Cambridge-trained investigative researcher helping organisations understand and strengthen legitimacy, trust and accountable decision-making in an era of organisational and technological change.
“I spent 25 years inside one of the UK’s most scrutinised public institutions. Now I research what makes institutions legitimate, and what happens when their own systems erode the trust of the people inside them, and the public they serve.”

Why me?
I bring together three perspectives that rarely sit in the same place: senior strategic and operational policing, national policy and leadership, and independent academic research.
I don’t simply advise organisations on what they should do. I examine why people experience organisations as legitimate or illegitimate, and what happens when organisational decisions undermine trust, voice, fairness or professional judgement.
I understand policing because I have led within it.
I research policing because I want to understand it.
I work with organisations to help them strengthen it.
